Contemplating Creation: From Genesis to Modern Reflections on Life, Nature, and the Divine Plan

ree

How often do you think about Creation?

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1:1. And then came man in Genesis 1:26, God said “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky."

Our God created everything on this earth. Look around this week, think about nature, animals, insects, and simply the sun's rising and setting each day, and think about human life! How babies are made 😉. Really, how can anyone doubt there is a God when you look at a newborn baby and consider all that came together to form LIFE? Every attribute from fingers, toes, organs, and the human eye!!!

This causes us to think about this season and a certain baby that came into this world through the Virgin Mary. We were reflecting over the past week on this event. And thinking, if we were Joseph, we may have had some doubts at first about Mary’s pregnancy! And, then, think about wise men coming from far away to worship a toddler! Certainly, it took faith, but God had a plan for his creation from the beginning.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” John 1:1-4.

God created each one of us GUYS…in HIS IMAGE! Ok, if you are like us, you may be saying, but I’m not Jesus, and I have many flaws. We hear you and trust us, we can relate. But why would God go to all the trouble to create us if he didn’t have a good reason for EACH of us?

His response was simple when Billy Graham was asked why God created man. “God created us for one reason: to know Him and love Him and have fellowship with Him.” Powerful stuff. When we think about the creation around us, we know God created this earth for our enjoyment. Even on a rainy day in Michigan, we appreciate God’s creation around us.
