Asking What God’s Plan is for You in 2025

New Year

Discover how to step into God’s vision for your life this year.

Christmas decorations are put away, and New Year celebrations are over. It's time to head into the adventure of a new year. What will change or be different as you head into the new year?

We all make New Year's resolutions, but are we serious about them? If you are like us, you often forget them by the end of January. It is like our college textbooks —the highlighting only made it to about the third chapter!

As we headed into this new year, we challenged ourselves to seriously consider the year ahead and how God wants to use us. We did not want to look at resolutions for the New Year from our perspective; we wanted to look at 2025 from His perspective. What does He want us to change? What are His plans for us in 2025? How can we draw one step closer to the men He created each of us to be in 2025?

"For I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good, not for disaster, to give you a future and hope." Jeremiah 29:11

Men, YOU were made for more than you realize. We are guessing that you do not even realize your potential when it comes to God's plan for your life.

"Many are the plans in the mind of man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand." Proverbs 19:11

Can we all start 2025 by asking God for a bigger vision for our lives? Get on your knees and ask Him what He wants us to do or accomplish this year.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10

The Bible clearly states that when God asks us to "look up" and turn to Him, He can and will provide great visions for our lives. In today's world, the pressure of social media, getting likes, "keeping up with the Jones," and measuring our value and worth on worldly metrics can lead us down the wrong path.

Where do we put our trust? Where do you put your trust?

"Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3: 5-6

Men, let's face it; this is not easy to do. THIS IS HARD WORK. The daily pressures of life and those of the evil one can be very tempting and strong. We face them every day. We fall short every day. How can we make 2025 different in that regard? How can we step up to the plate and be the MEN he created us to be?

"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14

We keep this verse front and center on our desks, a reminder each day to be bold and not be tempted by the pressures of today's world. As we head into 2025, what is the answer for you to take that next step? We suggest you pick one or two areas of your life where you can make a more significant and meaningful step in your relationship with God.

  • Is it to get in the word more consistently?

  • As we mentioned in last week's Fist Bump, is it to finally stop some habits that are getting in the way of you being the Man God created you to be?

  • Is it to call the friend you have meant to build a stronger relationship with?

  • Is it to show your wife more LOVE and to honor her more?

  • Is it to take more time for your kids and put your cell phone away at night and on weekends?

  • Can you pick an area in our community that you know could benefit from your engagement and involvement, such as helping those who have lost hope to get a glimpse of Jesus?

Again, each of us is different. The key is to pick what God wants you to do and STICK WITH IT. Where can you be a BOLDER for God? If you quit after a month, do not forget who you are disappointing.

Remember—God is awake all night, excited for you to wake up and walk with you as you live each day. He has BIG plans for you. If you are confused and unsure how to move closer to God, text or call us. We would love to meet with you.
