Has life ever thrown you a curveball?
You live large, have everything going your way, life is good. We all love it when we are in those zones in life when we have it all going our way. Then, all of a sudden, the rug is pulled out from you, and your life is turned upside down. It can be a money issue, a job issue, a family issue, or a health issue. Let’s face it: we are not immune to JUNK happening in our lives.
What is next? What do we do, where do we go, who do we talk to? Our minds take over, and we know what happens then. Worry and anxiety are front and center. The “evil one” can jump in.
We think this is where God wants to use each of us. We often talk about the power of relationships and how God wants to use our close relationship with each other to celebrate life and be a source of strength in times of need.
Sometimes we can shy away from these situations because we do not want to bother others with our problems, or we tend to shy away from offering support when we do not have an answer or know exactly what to say. God wants us to help and support each other, no matter the situation.
We may not have just the right thing to say but sometimes just BEING THERE and showing your care can make ALL the difference in the world.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ”. Galatians 6:2 – This verse underscores the importance of coming along side our friends and offering them practical support as they navigate challenges.
Just BEING THERE can make ALL the difference. In our office we have a framed phrase that says, BE THERE. People ask what that means. It means want it says. BE THERE
Be there for your wife. Be there for you kids. Be there for your grandkids. Be there for your friends.
It serves as a constant reminder to be present in ALL situations. To be in a relationship with others like God intended. To be there for them. This can just be a listening ear, it can be a phone call or note to let them know you care, it can be a random text to let them know you are thinking about them, it can mean just BEING THERE and letting them know you are THERE.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing”.
This week, focus on those in your life who would benefit from you just BEING THERE for them. Let them know it!
