Discover how your unique gifts help the whole team win.

the team

Last week, we shouted, “Here I am, Lord—put me in!” This week, we’re zooming out to see the bigger picture: Christ invites us onto the same roster, charged with one goal—eternity with Him.

Michigan legend Bo Schembechler nailed it in his famous Team speech: “No man is more important than the team.” Even if your colors aren’t maize and blue, the point still hits home. Teams thrive when ordinary players combine their strengths for something extraordinary. Watch Bo's speech here →

Jesus modeled that. He chose twelve everyday guys and changed the world through them. They weren’t all-stars at everything; they were committed, coachable, and willing to play their roles—even to the point of death.

Here are a few verses that reminded us that we are better off as a team:

"Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ." 1 Corinthians12:12
"For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."  Romans 12:4-5

When you suit up for Team Jesus, you gain brothers who’ve got your back in the trenches—texting encouragement, lending a hand, praying when life blitzes you.

This Week’s Challenge

  1. Send an encouraging text to a brother.

  2. Offer practical help where you know it’s needed.

  3. Thank the men who always show up for you.
