New Season. New Perspective. Rooted in Christ

As we talked about last week in the Fist Bump, we are approaching a change in season. For many, the more casual summer schedule is being replaced with school events and activities. Remember those back-to-school days as a kid? It feels like forever ago!
In many ways, it feels like a fresh start. Perhaps you’ve made some poor choices and need to get back on track. Perhaps work has consumed you, and you haven’t been investing in your marriage, friendships, or family.
Ever wish you could go back and change how you approached something? Here’s the good news: you can.
The foundation of our Christian faith is that God sent His Son so that through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we can experience new life. Every day is an opportunity to be a better version of ourselves. And as men, we should have each other’s backs in that journey. This week, we were reminded:
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” Matthew 7:3
Sometimes it’s not just about a “fresh start” but a “fresh perspective.” The busyness of life can cloud our view. But God calls us to grace. Jesus showed us the ultimate display of grace, and He asks us to do the same for others.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” Isaiah 43:18–19
As we head into this new season, here are three things to reflect on:
Our relationship with God: Are we making time in our “Two Chairs” to sit with Him? God desires an active, daily relationship with us.
Our Relationships with Others: How Are We Doing in the Grace Department? Are we focused on the speck in others’ eyes, or taking responsibility for our own?
Our service to God’s Kingdom: Are we remembering that life is not just about our enjoyment, but about serving others and pointing them toward Christ?
Our prayer this week is that God would meet you exactly where you are. He would encourage you, lift you up, and push you to be the best version of YOU.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
