Exploring the Intersection of Personal Struggles, Faith, and the Christmas Story at Seven24's Inspirational Gathering
As Will shared his story, you could have heard a pin drop. Will shared his story of addiction and recovery and did it in a very transparent and humble way. He laid it all out there. Will's story touched a few others in the room so that they shared some of their struggles. Men supporting men.
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor; If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to pick them up." Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
That is what Seven24 is all about. Men connect in relationships.
“For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them”. Matthew 18:20
If you are like us, the Christmas season is flying by. With all the activity, we hope you are taking some time to reflect on why we are all hustling around, putting up all the Christmas lights and buying all those packages.
Our daily devotion this month is on the Christmas story. Sure, we all know the story, but each day, we are taking time to reflect on the various events leading up to that miraculous night in Bethlehem. It is one of the most amazing stories you will ever read when you dive in.
From Mary and Joseph and their amazing story to the Wise men and the journey they made, to Herod and his desire to end it all, to the Shepard who had a thousand angels appear to them out in a field, to the actual birth of God in the form a baby in a manger. We have been discussing what it would have been like to have been each of these characters. Pretty amazing. How does the Christmas story link to the events last Tuesday night? God came to earth as a human to save us from ourselves. When the guys asked Will what he attributed his recovery to, he answered, "It had to be God." No other explanation.
“This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” 1 Timothy 1:15
He asks that we commit our lives to Him and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. He loves each of us beyond words. Yes, that means You. He loved Will so much that God never gave up on him, even in his darkest hour. Never! That baby in the manger who came to earth in a humble, miraculous way will NEVER give up on us. He wants us to be in a relationship with HIM and each other.
“For there is born to us in the City of David a SAVIOR, who is Christ the Lord” Luke 2:7
