Awakening to Divine Beauty: Trust and Peace in God's Creation

Embracing the Miracle of Each Day Through Faith, Family, and Fellowship in West Michigan

This morning, we are enjoying another beautiful sunrise in West Michigan, which causes us to think about the miracle of God's creation. It's pretty amazing when you want the beauty of the world God created.

Take a few minutes to look around you and enjoy the blessing of God's creation. Celebrate how he created YOU, your wife, your kids, your friends, and those you care about. We believe God wants us to take time in our busy schedule to "quiet our minds and enjoy being in His presence." To surrender all our busyness, anxieties, worries, frustrations, damaged relationships, etc., to HIM. Let's face it. In today's world, we all need this! If you are like us, the world's challenges are coming at us full force. What do we do about that? 

“I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust” Psalm 91:2

 We bet you might be saying, sure, it's easy to say but hard to do. How do I have the time to "enjoy God's presence" given my life? I have no time, am too busy, and never train my mind to shut out all my worries and frustrations to be in a relationship with God. We get it. We are the same way.   But, for the last 30 days, we have been working on training ourselves to do this. A spiritual trip to the gym! Fifteen minutes a day to dedicate our mind and heart to God! That is right; we dedicate our minds to talking to and listening to God. To be in and feel HIS peace and presence. To put our TRUST in HIM.

“Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on thing above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on things above, not earthly things” Colossians 3:1-2

 Relationships are a result of the time we invest in them. God is waiting to spend time with you. Remember, HE is up all night waiting for you to wake up. God wants us to feel HIS peace.   His peace is different than the peace the world offers. His peace offers security amid life's challenges. God is the source of PEACE.    There are tons of things on this earth that make us "feel good," BUT feeling the "peace" that comes from being in close connection to God is like no other. 

“May the God of hope fill you with all the joy and peace as you TRUST in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” Romans 15:13

Feeling the peace of God is closely linked to the TRUST we are willing to put in God. Let HIM take the wheel and give HIM our worries and frustrations. Surrendering our control to HIM…this is HARD to do! This is not something that will happen quickly. Patience and consistency.   Candidly, this is part of our life journey with God. He knows that.   He wants us to commit to that journey, releasing more of our lives and trust to HIM daily. To build a new habit. To establish a genuine, more lasting relationship with HIM. It is not just showing up when you need something.

This week, our challenge to all of us is to take another step in deepening and building our relationship with and TRUST in God. He is waiting for YOU!
