Let’s Make Heaven Crowded

two chairs

We’ve enjoyed hearing from so many of you who’ve started reading Two Chairs. This week, we launched a new devotion centered on a powerful and familiar moment in Scripture. Jesus tells Simon Peter to cast his net into deep water. After a long, unfruitful night of fishing, Peter reluctantly obeys, and the result is a miraculous catch so large the nets begin to break.

But that’s not the point of the story.

The real moment happens just after the miracle, when Jesus leans in and says something that changed everything:

“Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people” Luke 5:10

That’s what we’re focused on this week: what it means to be Fishers of Men.

As we read that verse and sit in our own Two Chairs, we’re reminded of how Jesus works through ordinary guys like us. This Fist Bump goes out to approximately 500 men. Just imagine what God can do through us, together and individually, if we’re willing to drop our nets and go deeper.

He wants to use each of us for His purpose and His Kingdom.

Let’s pause this morning and ask:

Who are we fishing for?

How are we making Jesus known?

How can we make God smile this week?

We know it’s not always easy. Life gets loud. Schedules pile up. Distractions multiply. We get caught up in the immediate and forget the eternal. Jesus saw this too, and He laid it out clearly for His disciples:

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:24

What does that look like for us this week?

  • It might mean carving out extra time in your Two Chairs to pray for someone by name.

  • It could be sending a text, email, or call to a buddy who needs encouragement.

  • Maybe it’s checking in with that person you know isn’t walking with Christ.

And when you interact with others—at work, at home, in line at the store—ask yourself: Am I reflecting Jesus?

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

Imagine what could happen if every one of us did one intentional thing for Christ this week.

We love hearing how God is at work in your life. Keep the messages coming. We’re all a work in progress, and it helps to know we’re not walking this road alone. Most importantly, we rest in the promise that Jesus has prepared a place for us—and that eternity with Him is the ultimate reward.

Have a great week, guys.

Let’s go fish for men. 🎣
