What if real strength looks like putting others first?

We talk a lot about servanthood. And if we are honest, it is not easy. Because everything around us pulls in the opposite direction.
The world tells us to focus on ourselves. Our time. Our needs. Our image. Our success. It becomes natural to think that the goal is to climb higher, so life gets easier.
Then we look at Jesus.
In the Gospel of John Chapter 13, during the Last Supper, He does something unexpected. He kneels down and washes His disciples’ feet.
Not a speech. Not a lesson.
An action.
Feet that were dirty from walking dusty roads in sandals.
And Jesus chose to serve.
This was the role of the lowest servant in the house.
And He stepped into it.
That moment flips everything. The world says the higher you go, the more you are served. Jesus shows us the opposite.
The higher you go, the more you serve.
That kind of life does not happen by accident. It takes strength to stay patient. It takes discipline to put others first. It takes confidence to not need recognition.
Jesus modeled it perfectly. And He calls us to do the same.
So what does that look like this week?
It might be doing something for someone without being asked.
It might be being fully present with your family.
It might be showing gratitude to someone you usually overlook.
Servanthood is not about big moments.
It is about consistent action.
